Canola
Canola – Non GM Canola Seed is sourced from Tasmanian farmers and local grain supply companies. We import extra Non GM seed from mainland Australia to meet shortfalls in local supply. Tasmanian Seed is preferred as it generally has a higher oil content. The canola oil and meal are sold as high-value stock feed.
Poppy
Poppy seed is a by-product of the alkaloid extraction process carried out in Tasmania and in the past has been buried to biodegrade. The poppy meal is used as an agricultural fertiliser and the poppy oil is used as a furnace fuel. We are currently only processing low volumes of poppy seed.
